Sophomores attended Youth Science Field Day put on by the UNL Extension office in North Platte. Some of the activites included investigating river erosion, locating structures on a cow’s reproductive tract, analyzing a field for pests, and feeling inside a cow’s stomach!
Dear Parents: Please join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences for PK-12 students Wed. Sept. 19 & 26 from 3-7 PM at Paxton Schools following a 2:00 dismissal those days. PK-5 conference times are pre-scheduled with the classroom teacher and parents are notified of their assigned conference time. Biology students are testing homeostasis in their own bodies with an exercise lab!
Anatomy students investigated homeostasis with a body temperature lab and checked out their own cheek cells under the microscope!
The third graders are learning about the water cycle and how water vapor evaporated condenses in a cloud causing it to rain. In this experiment they used shaving cream as the cloud and used droplets of food coloring to show how the condensation gets heavy and falls through clouds into precipitation.
