Miah Fox and Haley Holzfaster traveled to Hastings College where they were awarded for their achievements in the National Scholastic Writing Awards! The girls got to participate in a variety of leadership and writing activities including a workshop with Nebraska State Poet, Matt Mason! Haley received an Honorable Mention recognition and Miah received Gold Key recognition, an American Voices Award nomination, and a scholarship to Hastings College! She is also officially a published author in “Best Nebraska Teen Writing 2023.”
Mrs. Jorgensen's PE class enjoyed the beautiful day playing Frisbee Golf.
Our Division C Team also competed at Science Olympiad Regionals in Kearney. Tanner Hebblethwaite, Haley Holzfaster, and Jacelyn Jorgensen medaled in Experimental Design and Sarah Brott and Madi Hansen medaled in Disease Detectives!
It was a successful day at Kearney Regional Science Olympiad! Division B came home with the 5th place trophy. Individual medalists include:
Abby and Andi 6th in Bridges, Kaydence, Hadleigh and Jayden 3rd in Experimental Design, Landon C and Jesse 1st in Flight, Landon D and Thomas 5th in Rollercoaster and 2nd in Storm the Castle, James and Valerie 5th in Wheeled Vehicle, Jayden and James 5th in Write it do it.

Thanks to Linda Drews and Party Girl Creations for donating flowers to our General Science class! We got to take a closer look at plants as we will learn how we can use plants to live more sustainably.
Paxton elementary celebrated the end of Read Across America Week with popcorn, slushies, and a movie. The students had reason to celebrate, for all students in grades K-5 had successfully read a total of 1,549 books!!!
Elementary students who read 50 books for all 50 states were the following: Brynn Kuenning, Makayla Runge, Aiyleen Villa Enriquez, Mason Godina, Jocelyn Potts, Bentley Potter, Hynlee Mitchell, & Gavin Connick. Congratulations to these young readers!
Congratulations to Brecken Zona! He won the Bookworm estimation challenge. He guessed 137 bookworms and he estimated exactly!! Way to go Brecken!

The following students traveled to Hershey on Tuesday to compete in Quiz Bowl: Jacob Holzfaster, Jayden Gartner, Miah Fox, Miles Rogge, Madi Mullen, Sarah Brott, Maria Garcia, Audrey Holm, Savanna McMahon, Kathleen McMillian-Peters, Kepler Spurgin, Ella Fote, and Haley Holzfaster. Both teams came away with 2 wins!
